Terms of service

The service
BulkQR.com generates QR code images in bulk from data you supply. Anonymous use is free up to the published limits; larger jobs require an account and credits purchased in advance. Generated codes are yours to use however you like. We claim no rights over your content or the generated images. Dynamic QR codes are an optional subscription, described below.
Credits and payment
- One credit generates one QR code. Credits are debited when a job is accepted and automatically refunded for any items that fail to generate.
- Credits don't expire and are shared across your organisation.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. If a payment is refunded, the corresponding credits are removed from your balance, including retroactively if they've already been spent.
- For unused credits, contact admin@bulkqr.com within 14 days of purchase for a refund.
Dynamic QR codes
Dynamic codes are a separate, optional subscription, not paid for with credits. A dynamic
code encodes a short q9x.me address that redirects to a destination you choose
and can change.
- Price. Your organisation's first code is free. Paid codes are billed per active code on a monthly or annual subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Prices are graduated, each band of codes at its own rate, as listed on the dynamic QR codes page. The first band (up to 10 paid codes) is a flat fee: it's the minimum charge while you're subscribed, even with no paid codes active. Annual billing costs 10 times the monthly price. You choose the currency when you first subscribe, and it then stays fixed for your organisation.
- Adding codes. Your first paid code goes through Stripe checkout. Codes added after that are prorated: the charge for the rest of the current period goes on your next invoice. On annual plans, prorated charges are invoiced monthly.
- Archiving. An archived code stops redirecting within about a minute and stops counting towards your bill from your next renewal. There's no refund or credit for the rest of the current period. Restoring an archived code bills it again, prorated.
- Switching to annual. You can switch from monthly to annual billing while your subscription is active and paid up. The annual year starts that day and is invoiced immediately, with credit for the unused part of the month. We don't currently offer switching an annual plan back to monthly.
- Cancelling. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no refund for the rest of that period. Until then your codes keep working, but you can't add codes or switch to annual.
- Grace and lapse. If your subscription ends or can't be paid, your paid codes keep redirecting for a 30-day grace period. We email your organisation's owners and admins when it starts, 7 days and 1 day before it ends, and when it ends. After that, paid codes show a page saying the code is no longer active, which names neither you nor the code. Your free code keeps working. Resubscribing restores your codes once the payment completes. While Stripe is retrying a failed payment your codes keep working, but you can't add codes until it's paid.
- Code IDs. We never reissue a code ID to anyone else, even after it's archived, abandoned or deleted with your account. Codes whose checkout isn't completed within 24 hours are abandoned, and their IDs are retired.
- Acceptable destinations. Destinations must be
httporhttpsweb addresses of up to 2,048 characters. Don't point codes at malware, phishing, or unlawful or deceptive content. We may block a code that breaks this: it then shows the inactive page, the console marks it blocked, and you can contact support@bulkqr.com. A blocked code still counts towards your bill until you archive it. We may also suspend the account. - Free allowance. The free code needs a verified email address. We may change the free allowance for codes created in future; codes that are already free stay free while they remain active.
- Scan data. Scan analytics are kept for 3 months; see the privacy policy.
Your content and downloads
- Generated archives and the data you submitted are kept for 90 days, then deleted. Download links expire on the same schedule.
- Dynamic code scan analytics are kept for 3 months, then expire. A dynamic code's destination, destination history, label and tags are kept while the code exists and deleted with your account; only the bare code ID is kept after that, so it's never reissued.
- You're responsible for the content you encode. Don't use the service to link to malware, phishing, or anything unlawful; we may refuse or remove such jobs and suspend the account.
Fair use and availability
- We work hard to keep the service fast and available but provide it "as is", without warranty. Scheduled limits (job sizes, rate limits) may change.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Accounts
- Keep your credentials safe; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account page. Organisations with other members must be handed over or emptied first. A dynamic codes subscription that's still paying, including one set to cancel at the end of the period, has to end first. Deleting your account permanently switches off all of its dynamic codes, including the free one.
